Sharon joined our team in January 2014 with over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing. In April 2014, Sharon passed the Series 65 Securities License Exam becoming an Investment Adviser Representative focused on Business Development for D3 Financial Counselors. As of January 2017, Sharon will be based in the Downtown Chicago office as an Administrative Assistant. She is here to help answer client questions and direct you to the person who can best serve your needs. She is responsible for account openings, and all administrative support serving our clients and D3’s Financial Planners. Sharon is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s College in Indiana with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Raised on the south side of Chicago, she currently resides in the Lincoln Park community in Chicago. Sharon has traveled extensively and enjoys her active life in the city.

You began administrative work for D3 at the beginning of this year. What have you enjoyed most about working at D3?
I enjoy being part of a team whose focus is helping individuals and families achieve their goals through smart financial planning and decision making.
What was your career prior to working at D3
36 years in sales, sales management, & marketing primarily in the graphic arts & printing industries.
What places have you lived?
I was born in Chicago and lived here most of my life. For job promotions, I lived in Denver, San Francisco, and Boston until I decided to come back home to Chicago to be closer to family.
What are some favorite restaurants in Chicago?
In the summer I enjoy sitting on the outside patio at Piccolo Sogno. For ribs, I go to Twin Anchors. For great steak, it’s Ruth Chris. A new neighborhood restaurant is Sal’s Trattoria in Lakeview.
Which annual event in Chicago do you make sure you attend every year?
Old Town Art Fair in June
Where have you traveled? If you could go back to any city/country, where would it be and why?
I have traveled for vacation to over 20 countries so far. Last year I spent 3 weeks in Southeast Asia and the year before that I traveled to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I loved Prague and would like to go back to spend more time strolling through town. Its architecture is incredible and history so interesting. I may go back during the holidays as I have been told that Christmas time in Prague is magical.
What is your favorite way to recharge?
A weekend away with good friends.
If you were to recommend a book to someone, what book would it be and why?
The People Code by Dr. Taylor Hartman. It introduces you to different personality types and why people do what they do. I found it accurate, fun to read, and useful in communicating with others.
What memory from your childhood do you treasure the most?
The close friendships I developed and am still enjoying today with four of my grammar school friends. I treasure our relationship.
What movie to you watch any time it-reruns on TV, no matter how many times you’ve seen it?
Sound of Music.
